Tulip Tree With Verticillium Wilt Is Surrounded By Pachysandra With Volutella Are The Diseases Related

Question From: J. Ward - Akron, Ohio, United States
Q: Hello, my pachysandra has volutella leaf blight and we spray regularly. We have a tulip tree growing right in the middle of the pachysandra. In searching on the internet, I believe my tulip tree has verticillium wilt. The leaves start turning brown as soon as they come out in spring and now the tree is about bare. Are these two things related? or are two separate things? I seem to at least have the volutella under control in the pachysandra, but my tulip tree is definitely dying. Anything I can do?

The diseases are plant specific. If it were my tree I would have an onsite inspection from a certified arborist. To find a professional in your are go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
