Vermiculite As Soil Amendment For Lawn

Question From: r. ciuckis - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
Q: what are your thought's on applying vermiculite to an established lawn and if this should be done, how, when and how much should be applied? (soil admendment)

A: Vermiculite won't help the lawn. It's used in potting soil to improve drainage. It won't break down and will just sit on the top of the soil. It is inert so will not feed the soil. Compost would be a better choice. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
