Viburnum Leaves Are Wilted And Curling

Question From: C. Gardner - Prescott, Arizona, United States
Q: My viburnum is wilty, leaves are curling and flattening down especially in the higher branches. The color of the leaves looks pretty healthy and no holes in the leaves to suggest pests. I thought it needed water (even tho I water every day) but nothing helps....

Your viburnnum has the dreaded verticillium wilt. Cut off the stems with wilted leaves and hope for the best. Be sure to disinfect your pruners with a 10 % bleach solution after every cut. There is no cure for this disease. Daily watering may be doing more harm than good, Keep the soil around the shrub moist not sodden. Best Nancy
