Q: my Virginia creeper vine has some kind of insect that is sucking all the green out of the leaves the whole plant is dying what can I do? will it come back in the spring?
A: Your Virginia Creeper is under attack by leaf hoppers. I would contact your county extension horticulture agent for a recommendation as to when and what to treat it with. Timing is important and it varies from state to state. He/she may be able to recommend a systemic that would be effective, easy to use and not damage the plant. The pests reside on the back of the leaves making spraying difficult. Your vine should be able to survive this attack, but be sure to keep it watered. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
