What Is The Shelf Life Of Fertilizer

Question From: K. Bailey - MICHIGAN
Q: What is the shelf life of fertilizer? I have bags of "Turf Nurture" and "Milorganite" that have been in my detached, unheated garage for at least two years. There is no expiration date on the bags. Do I need to get rid of it and buy new? Where can I responsibly dispose of the old stuff if it is no longer effective? Thank you so much!

The good news is both are fine to use on your lawn and garden. The beneficial organisims in the Turf Nuture may have died off, but the basic fertlizer has remained stable. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
