What Size Shallot Bulbs Should Be Used For Planting

Question From: W. Dutz - Pigeon, Michigan, United States
Q: Can you tell me where I can purchase large Shallot bulbs for planting in my garden. I see large bulbs in the supermarket, but in the nursery catalogs I only find listings for small dime size bulbs. Thank you for your help Bill Dutz

The seed shallots are what you want for planting in the garden. They will grow to the size you find in the grocery store. You don't want to start out with a mature bulb. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
