Question From: M. Stone - Asheville, North Carolina, United States
Q: I have investigated the wisdom of planting heather (not heath) in Asheville, NC (Western NC in the mountains) on a sunny well- drained hillside rock garden. I had decide to go ahead but now am having doubts as planting time nears. What would you say? If not heather, do you have any suggestions for something ; I am wanting color? I already have catmint planted.
A: I can't answer your question as I grow in Michigan. You have incredible resources in NC. such as the J C Raulston Arboretum. This is a world class garden that focuses on plants that work in your landscape, If I were you I would become a member and take advantage of their education facilities and programs.
