What To Plant For Ground Cover On Sloping Yard In South Arkansas

Question From: El Dorado, Arkansas, United States
Q: I live in South Arkansas. My yard slopes front to back, with a drainage ditch along the back edge. I have 2 small dogwood trees (less than 4ft tall) and 9 full size pine trees along a 125ft property line. What would you recommend for a ground cover for this area? I am open to most anything except for kudzu, honeysuckle, or poison ivy! Thanks.

A: Richard, I would contact the University of Arkansas horticulture school for recommendations. Click on link below. Plants grow differently in different areas and you don't want to risk planting an invasive specie. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
