What To Use As Liner For Wire Planting Baskets

Question From: V. Oddo - New Baltimore, Michigan, United States
Q: I have four metal baskets attached to the outer garage walls that I put liners in to plant with flowers. The problem is with the liners, the ones you can buy at most nurseries. They generally collapse at the top and dirt falls out and water dribbles out rather than in. Are you aware of any place that sells hard shell liners that I can drill holes in the bottom for drainage? I've searched various websites with no success.

Sorry Victoria, I have never come across that type of liner. You might try lining the liners with heavy plastic and punching holes in the bottom for drainage. You can buy heavy duty plastic lining material at stores that sell pond garden products. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
