When And How To Prune Juniper

Question From: Morris, Illinois, United States
Q: can savin junipers be pruned and if so when

Any Junipers can be pruned Virginia. If you plan to cut off entire branches you can do so in late winter or early spring. But they will not regenerate new growth and exposed ends will remain. If you wish to improve density, pinch out half the green growth when new growth appears in spring. If there is no green left on the branch it will not regrow. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
