When Is Best Time To Plant Bulbs

Question From: NEW YORK
Q: WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO PLANT BULBS, IN NY CITY AREA AND DO YOU AD ANYTHING TO THE SURROUNDING SOIL

When the soil cools, mid to late October is suggested. I've planted as late as early December. I do not add anything to the soil when planting. Daffs multiply like crazy, alliums also do well. Tulips are an annual for me, but I think they are worth the show. Best and Happy Yardening, Nancy
