Q: When is the best time of the year to trim back flaming ember tree's about 20 years old ...... about 8 or 10 feet tall live in north east part of michigan..........thanks
A: Sam, Your flaming ember tree is an Amur Maple. Best to refer to it by its common name rather than variety name of Flaming Ember. I had no idea what kind of a tree you were talking about as trees are not listed in reference books by variety. The best time to prune it is in late winter.
