When Should Dead Leaves And Branches In Ivy Be Removed

Question From: Pasadena, California, United States
Q: Our ivy looks terrible. We have watered it through the drought, but clearly not enough. Much of it is brown and dried out. Can we revive it? If so, how? A landscaper said to cut it all down, getting rid of all the dead leaves and branches and fertilize, and that it would revive. We are still getting 95 degree days here in Southern California. If we are to cut it back and fertilize, when should we do that?

Late winter or early spring is the best time. Regular watering is key. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
