When Should Iwai Nishiki Quince Be Trimmed

Question From: Ottawa, Ohio, United States
Q: I have several iwai nishiki quince and am just wondering when they should be trimmed. Mine seem to grow really fast. Right now they are blooming but have long shoots growing out making them probably 4-3 feet tall.

Spring flowering shrubs are usually pruned when the blossoms fade so as not to cut away the flowers. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
