When To Apply Bayer Tree And Shrub To Protect Ash Trees From Ash Borers

Question From: WISCONSIN
Q: I have two ash trees that I have been trying to protect for the last 10 years. I have used Bayer tree and shrub to keep the emerald ash borer away, but I feel this year is critical for my trees because the entire community is infested with them now including trees on my neighbors property. Knowing that and knowing that we are at the end of March, when is the optimal time to treat with Bayer tree and shrub to get the maximum up take into the tree?

According to Bayer it should be applied in spring when the tree is actively growing. That said, I would seek the advice of a certified arborist. To find one in your area, go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. Good Luck Nancy and Happy Yardening.
