When To Cut Back Hibiscus And Plant Roses

Question From: Rochester, Michigan, United States
Q: We have a beautiful hibiscus plant that has grown to about 8ft and would like to reduce it's height. Any suggestions-I cut it back to the base root in the FALL? Also, when is the best time to transplant knock off roses?

A: I would cut the hibiscus back in early spring. Roses are best transplanted in late fall after they have gone dormant. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
