When To Fertilize Planted Trees

Question From: T. Maursetter - Dandridge, Tennessee, United States
Q: I planted a bald cypress about 3 weeks ago in east TN. I am keeping the mulch moist. It is about 7 feet tall. When should I fertilize it? I also planted 2 sequoia's about 7 feet tall last April. When can I fertilize them as well? Thank you

Professtionals tell us to wait a year after planting to fertilize. I would use an organic fertilizer, such as Tree Tone at recommend rates. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
