Question From: CALIFORNIA
Q: Is it safe to trim a large white pine tree any time of year in warm climates? (I live in Southern California). It's overgrown and branches are laying on my roof.
A: White pines are usually pruned in late winter or early spring here in Michigan. According to Google there are 6 fires currently burning in Southern California. I suggest you get the advice of a certified arborist as to how to prune your tree. It may well be a fire hazard. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
