Question From: L. Tull - Utica, Michigan, United States
Q: I am interested in your Sunday article about crevices rock gardens. We have an old cottage up near Traverse City & the soil is very sandy with scrubby looking yews. Could a crevice garden work in this environment & were do I find the combination of sand & gravel. Also, where do I find the May-June issue of Fine Gardening? Thanks for your help.
A: The Crevice garden should do well there. The builders sand is available at Home Depot or similar store. Check with your independent garden center or nursery to find an outlet for the gravel. Do not use pea gravel. You can buy specific issues of Fine Gardening Magazine here: http://www.finegardening.com/magazine, or you can subscribe at Amazon.com or Taunton Press.
