Question From: J. St john - WASHINGTON
Q: Hello, I found some white nodules growing on the vine of my ivy. I have asked a couple people and we’ve no seen anything like it. It is not a mealy bug. Any ideas what this may be?

A: They could possibly be some short of egg casingings. As I am not an entomologist I can't identify them. They may also little growths called hold fasts that help some types of vining Ivy attach itself to walls and trees, etc. If you squash them and they ooze goo they are eggs. If they are solid they are holdfasts. A magnifying glass would be helpful. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
