Why Are Crepe Myrtle Limbs Curling

Question From: T. Gainey - MISSISSIPPI
Q: Why might my crape myrtle limbs be curling? They were fine when I purchased them but new growth has curled. They are approximately 5-6 years old from what I remember. I have other older crapes that are fine and I've had volunteers come up randomly that are always fine. They are in a normal soil environment - not too wet; not too dry - and get only a slight amount of dappled shade in the late afternoon. Would love to figure this out. Thank you!

I have no experience growing crepe myrtles as I live in Michigan and they are not hardy here. I reccomend you consult with a certified arborist in your area. Could be a disease. To find a certified arborist in your area go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
