Question From: B. Cornelle - NORTH CAROLINA
Q: This summer we saw absolutely NO Japanese beetles in our yard -- a first in the two decades I've lived here. However, we DID have a lot of extra large bee/wasp-type insects flying around; insects that also burrowed into the ground and created dirt hills. I don't remember ever seeing those before. Could those insects have had something to do with the scarcity of Japanese beetles in the yard?
A:
I doubt it. However, the drought and hot weather may have. Count yourself lucky Barbara, I had a banner crop of JBs this year. Happy Yardening, Nancy
