Why Does 10 Year Old Rose Bush Start Putting Out Long Runners With Small Flowers

Question From: Carthage, Mississippi, United States
Q: why does a rose bush that is about 10 years old start putting on long runners with small flowers it has plenty of water

Sounds like rose rosette disease. Google "photos of rose rosette disease" for a more accurate diagnosis. The disease is fatal so if it's a match dig out the shrub and all the roots, bag it up and put in the garbage. It will spread to other roses, so do it ASAP. Best Nancy
