Why Is Mountain Laurel Limey Green

Question From: J. Roth - TEXAS
Q: Why is my mountain laurel so Limey-green ? It is located in a sunny part of the backyard. It was planted a year ago. Thank you.

A:

Jean, Mountain Laurels are acid loving plants. If planted in alkaline soil the plants cannot take up the nutrients they need and they loose their color. I suggest you have your soil test and take the recommendations. Be sure to indicate that you are growing Mountain Laurels. Happy Yardening, Nancy
