Question From: D. Franks - PENNSYLVANIA
Q: I planted English ivy under a pin oak tree. I live in Pennsylvania. The ivy does not seems to be evergreen. It loses most leaves in winter and then grows them back in late May or June. In early spring it looks like a bunch of stems. This is the fifth year for it . Why is it not evergreen?

A: You may be growing Boston Ivy which is deciduous and looses it's leaves in fall. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
