Why Is Picture Of Carrots Staged

Question From: b. marianovits - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada
Q: why are the carrots in this picture (http://gardening.yardener.com/moved_yardener_files/image/GirlGuidesContainerVeg_LW.jpg) staged to look like they are growing in that pot? If they were actually growing together in that pot, the root top would be green, the roots would not be the uniform, they would be of similar size, and would not be sticking that far out of the soil. Why Nancy!?! Why are your carrots staged!?!?!

Ben, I can't answer that question as the picture was put up on the website by the author and originator of the website, Jeff Ball, who passed away on 11/11/11. Jeff had a great sense of humor and I have to think he was thinking something like - "now we're cooking". Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
