Why Would Canna Lily Flowers Be Dying

Question From: Englewood, Florida, United States
Q: Hello I live in South West Florida and have recently planted canna lilies in the planters at the resort I work at. All of the leaves are a really good color, but the flowers are all dying. Can you think of any possibilities as to why? Thanks in advance!

Lack of water would be my guess. Cannas are not drought tolerant and the flowers are the first to go when the plants begin to dry out. Wind and sunburn may also be an issue of they came out of a green house. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
