Will 3 Inches Of Mulch Prevent Tulip And Daffodil Bulbs From Growing

Question From: R. Nesslyk - WASHINGTON
Q: I have a lot of tulip and daffodils bulbs I planted last fall, they came up wonderfully, now the flowers are gone and I have weeded and cleaned up the flower beds to just dirt. I want to put colored wood chips in the beds about 2-3 inches thick beginning in September but not sure if it will destroy the bulbs for next spring. is it ok. ??

The bulbs will push their way through the mulch next spring. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
