Will Astilbe That Is ReStarting Growth In Fall Come Out Again Next Year

Question From: P. LEHMAN - Magnolia, Ohio, United States
Q: My landscaper planted Astilbe in a area that gets 8 hours of full sun. The plants wilted and the stems turned brown even through I kept them watered. As they died the dead stems would just pull out. But new growth is coming out again. It's just now about 1/4 inch tall - it will frost in a month or two and the new growth will be done. Will these plants come out again next year?

Can's answer that Philip. Keep their soil damp and mulch them heavily which shredded leaves. In spring top dress with compost. Good Luck Nancy
