Will Japanese Iris Overwinter At 7000 Feet Elevation

Question From: E. Davis - MARYLAND
Q: Will Japanese Iris grow at 7,000 feet? I live in MD and mine stay in the ground successfully here in MD. But, will they need to be dug in Colorado at 7,00 feet.? If so, How should they be kept? Peat, or dirt in a container and inside a cool room in a basemen?t. THank you for your help.

A: They are hardy to zone 3 so should be able to overwinter in the ground. Best Nancy and Happy Yarding
