Question From: B. - INDIANA
Q: Neem oil question. I have pesky mimosa webworms about to descend from my beautiful sunburst locust tree. I don’t see the webworms as a pest that the neem will help control, but did see “caterpillars” listed. The webworms are hitting the grass for a reason, and I would like to stop them in their tracks with something when they get there. (I have learned that a dormant spray might help next years problem) but have got to do something about this years problem now! Couldn’t pick enough of the pesky pest infested leaves off the tree!
A: Mimosa webworms are caterpillars so Neem should work. Visit and independent garden center or nursery that sells the product for advice. An organic control that will not harm pollinators is bacillus thruningiensis also known BT. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
