Yew Tree Needles Are Turning Brown After Weed Killer Was Used On Lawn

Question From: NEW YORK
Q: I bought my property 23 years ago. There was a large yew tree on the front lawn. Now the needles are turning brown and I am concerned that I will lose it. My landscaper did apply weed killer to the lawn. There does appear to be white spots on the branches. I have mulch around the trunk and have the hose dripping at the bottom. Can you please advise. Thank you.

A: I recommend you get an on-site inspection from a professional, a certified arborist. Find out from your landscaper what kind of weed killer was used on lawn. To find an arborist in your area go to tcia.org and enter your zipcode.Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy,
