Question From: M. Kolle - Clay Center, Kansas, United States
Q: It looked like the crepe myrtle was dead about 5-6' tall, but in late June it finally had new shoots from the roots, but my husband went to saw the dead off, & it knocked 2 of the new shoots off. Only 1 new shoot left, will this plant survive and what can i do to help it.
A: I do not have a crystal ball. Keep it watered and fertilize it in late fall. It will probably never become the shrub or tree you had hoped for, so I would replace it. Best, Nancy
