Question From: s. granger - Pineville, Louisiana, United States
Q: my cucumbers are growing well. but the young fruit ( 1" long with flower still attached) start turning a light brown from one end and works to the other end and dies off. the plants themselves are growing vigorously. i water every day and fertilized twice. any sugestions
A: I think you are killing them with kindness. Cold weather, too much fertilizer and lack of bees to fertilize them will cause tiny cukes to croak. Take a male flower and rub it gently into the center of female to fertilize it. Good Luck and Happy Yardening, Nancy.
