Young Weeping Willow Tree Leaves Are Turning Brown By Sections

Question From: s. hadgisava - Lake Zurich, Illinois, United States
Q: I have a two or three year old weeping willow and the large sections of the tree seem like they are drying out. It seems like it's getting a good amount of water without over doing it but yet the leaves are turning brown in late July. They turn brown by individual branches not the whole tree at the same time. I'm not sure but it seems like it might have done it last year as well. I don't get it.

A: Sounds like a disease to me. Common ones are canker and scab and often are found together. I suggest you get an onsite inspection from a professional, a certified arborist for treatment and control. To find one in your area go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code.
