Zinnia Leaves Are Turning Brown

Question From: New Jersey, United States
Q: my zinna's are all lovely tall flowers but the leaves are all turning brown? what is wrong: what can i do?

A: My guess is your zinnias have a soil borne fungal disease called Alternaria leaf blight. Remove and destroy all infected leaves. Do not plant zinnias in that area for three years. Treat plants with a fungicide such as Serenade, a biofungicide that is earth safe and OMRI listed. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
