Q: I planted 8 tall zinnia seedlings. Three have now broken off at ground level or just above. There doesn't seem to be any reason for this. It looks like they were just snapped. I want to know what is attacking my zinnias. Thank you.
Sounds like you have cut worms. Wrapping the stems of the plants with tinfoil will protect them. If you choose to use a pesticide, Google pesticides that can be used in Colorado to find one that is effective and available in Colorado.
