Question From: P. Caccia - ILLINOIS
Q: I've had a smal garden for over 45 years any usually always plant zucchini. This year I've had only 3 zucchinis total from four plants. Lots of blossoms, not an insect problem that I can see. The vines and leaves look healthy, (no yellowing or dying). I added bone meal to the ground and worked it into the soil before planting the seeds. I did not use any fertilizer this year. Would that be the problem? I've watered every three days or so when there hasn't been any rain. Just yesterday, Sept 1st, I resorted to pulling the plants. Any suggestions for next year?
A: Sounds like the flowers are not getting pollinated. Google how to hand pollinate zucchinis.
