Weeping Pussy Willow Leaves Turned Brown After Being Moved

Question From: Covington, Georgia, United States
Q: I just moved my weeping pussy willow tree last week and the leaves all turned brown. The tree is in full sun until 2-3 pm and then partial sun. I have watered it every day and the branches are still pliable. Do you think it turned brown due to stress of being moved? Do I need to trim the branches or do anything else to keep from losing the tree?

A: Your timing was not the best. It should have been moved before bud break. Keep it watered so the soil stays moist not sodden, and hope it develops a new set of leaves. Do not fertilize it. Best Nancy
