Alyssum

"A large lacy mound of Alyssum planted near the kitchen door will greet all who enter with a honey sweet fragrance during the growing season. When used as an edger in planters these mounds of thimble-shaped flower clusters will spill over the edges like free flowing frosting. Should it swoon during the dog days of August when nighttime temperatures remain high, shearing back the frazzled plants will result in a fresh flush of bloom when the temperatures cool. Alyssum’s ability to handle a light frost makes it a good choice for those who push the envelope when it come to frost-free planting. Alyssum is an excellent choice for seeding into the cracks and crevices of walkway and patio stones and once established it readily reseeds itself."
