Ohio Buckey (Aesculus glabra)At 20 years height 20’ with spread of 15’. Mature height is 50 to 70’ with a spread of 40 to 50’Zones (3) 4 through 7A, full sun with acidic well drained soils. Does not like dry soil.
Growth rate is medium at 10 to 12 inches per year.
Red Buckeye (Aesculus pavia)Mature height usually 10 to 20’ but can grow to 30 feet with a spread of 10 to 20’Zones 6A through-9A, full sun with acidic well drained soils. Does not like dry soil.
Yellow Buckeye (Aesculus octandra)Mature height of 50 to 75’with a spread of 30 to 40’Zones 4A through 8A, full sun with acidic well drained soils. Does not like dry soil.
Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum)At 20 years height 20’ with spread of 15’. Mature height of 75 to 90’ with a spread of 40 to 50’. Growth rate is medium at 10 to 12 inches per year.Zones 4A through 7B, full sun with acidic well drained soils. Does not like dry soil.
Red Horse Chestnut (Aesculus carnea)At 20 years height is 20’ and spread is 15’. Mature height and spread of 30 to 45’. Growth rate is medium at 10 to 12 inches per year.Zones (4)5 to 7B, full sun with acidic well drained soils. Does not like dry soil.
