Question From: MICHIGAN
Q: Why is the skin on my cherry tomatoe plants tuff? I water at the same time of day regularly and my plant has approx 2 inches of mulch. Not sure if weather or too much sun has an affect. The flavor is good just have problems with the tuff skin Any help appreciated. Thank you
A: Excessive heat is my guess. Temperatures of 85 and higher. If you harvest them at breaker point, that is when tthe fruit begins to color up, and let them ripen on the kitchen sink, they will hold their flavor and the skin will not be so tough. Best Nancy
