Crepe Myrtle Leaves Are Folding And Turning Dark Red On One Side Of Tree

Question From: Los Gatos, California, United States
Q: On the right hand side of my crepe myrtle the leaves are folding and turning a dark reddish color. This has never happened since I planted them a few years ago. There 4 in a row. What would cause this to happen? Some of the other trees are beginning to do this, too.

Aphids often cause leaf curling and coloring of leaves may be caused by disease. I recommend you get an onsite inspection from a certified arborist. To find one in your area go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
