Pests
A number of insect and disease problems can affect raspberries, such as root weevils, leaf- roller larvae, spider mites, aphids, powdery mildew, anthracnose, Verticillium wilt, and phytophthora root rot. Cold injury can cause crop loss; blackcaps are the most sensitive to cold, but red raspberries also can be injured, depending on year and produc- tion region. Hot summers may sunburn fruit or cause ultraviolet (UV) light damage; symptoms include white drupelets.
